Oversized PST

With PST files from Outlook 2002 (XP) and before, they had an upper size limit of 2 GB. You'll get no warning and if your file gets bigger than this, it simply won't open. This section has a Web page and 2 tools which should allow you to recover from a such a situation. Outlook 2003 does not have this problem.

Quit all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox Repair Tool." Where is the path to the .pst file. If you run the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe), the file does not resolve the problem. CAUSE - This problem occurs because the .pst and the .ost files have a 2 gigabyte (GB) size limitation, and the error message occurs when it is exceeded. The Inbox Repair Tool cannot correct this problem.."
